Tuesday, Feb 12Another exciting day of judging of Sporting, Working, Toy Groups plus Best In Show. Canadian dogs deserving honorable mention are Best of Breed winner in Irish Setters, "Piper" Am Can Muldoon Dewitts Great One owned by Shyanne Polley and Alfons Konrad and shown as usual by William Alexander. The Best of Breed Eng Springer Spaniel Am Can Ch Karmadi's Madam President shown by Robin Novack is Canadian bred and co-owned by Diane Hearns of Canada. Another perennial competitor at the Garden is Janine Starink with her Giant Schnauzer "Solo" Am Can Ch Aerdenhout's Make It So was Best Of Opposite Sex. In the Toy Group handler Sarah Drake piloted Toy Poodle Am Can Ch Kineret's Little Hero owned by Suzanne Weinstein to Best Opposite Sex. Jody Paquette handled her solid black Shih Tzu "Jay-Z" Am Can Ch Wenrick's Music Of The Night owned with her parents, Richard and Wendy, to an Award Of Merit. The televised evening Groups judging had the daytime crowded breed rings dismantled and set up in a spacious main event ring familiar to all who watch on television. Again the atmosphere is unique to the Garden with the crowds supporting their favorites with thunderous applause making the final outcomes exciting and momentous. As you may be aware the eventual Best In Show winner was the 15 " Beagle Ch. K-Run's Park Me In First, a very popular choice and the first time a Beagle has won BIS at the Garden.

To see the 'best of the best'...also great shopping." Amanda Kelly " It is a good way to showcase Canadians and our dogs which are very competitive." Emily Burdon "Canadian dogs are fabulous and we should be proud to show them off. It is also a thrill for me as this was the first time I showed my dog myself at the Garden."
